Things you need to have

For packing up your glass dinnerware, you need to have a few things. You will need:

  • Packing paper
  • Packing tape
  • Moving boxes
  • Marker

How to pack?

Tape the bottom

Most of the people only tap or pack the middle seam of the box, which is not the right way, especially when you are packing glass dinnerware. You need to tape the bottom of the box if you don’t want it to open up in the way when you are shifting. To keep your dinnerware safe, you need to tape the seam of the flaps, middle area, and also tape the edges of the box. It would be better to be safe rather sorry.

Easy to access boxes

Try to tape two adjacent flaps down so that you can hold easily. Some boxes are big, so they need to be arranged in a manner that you can easily access them.

Add padding

It is the best idea to add a layer of packing paper and ball it nicely. This padding will create a perfect cushion for your dinnerware that prevents it from breaking.

Place heavy items first

When you are packing up dinnerware sets, you need to place the heavy items first as if you keep them on the top then a slight jerk can break the light items you keep before the heavy items. Plates are heavy than glasses, cups, and bowls, so wrap each plate individually, and place it before any other item.

Wrap up the bowls

You need to work with one bowl at a time, and for this, the corner of a piece of paper should be placed inside the bowl. Crumple the paper around other bowls. Before placing the bowls, you need to place a layer of packing paper on the top.
